Garden design Services
Flexible services for your garden or landscape.
From one-off consultation or skills workshops to fully designed and managed projects, I enjoy working with clients to explore what they need—whatever the scale of their outdoor space.
Currently, I mainly work on projects within an hour’s drive of my village; Langley Upper Green in Essex.
Full or part Garden Design Service
Each project is different: some clients may be looking for a masterplan for the garden layout and may wish to realise it at a later date.
Others will ask me to see their project through through from concept to completion working closely with a landscaper to ensure the design is realised as planned.
Hand-drawn perspective sketches or plans of the garden design can be provided as part the design process as an extra, if desired.

PLANTING DESIGNS FOR Smaller areas & borders
Do you have some tired borders that need refreshing?
I can provide planting plans for existing borders, working where possible with existing trees, shrubs and hard landscaping to ensure a sustainable approach.
I can offer a planting service for these smaller projects and I can supply the plants, mulch or soil improver as necessary from trusted trade suppliers.
Meadows
Consultation, design and implementation services for both meadow turf and bespoke sowing mixes, depending on the requirements of the client and what is appropriate to the site.

Artist collaboration
Drawing on my previous career as a curator of contemporary art, I collaborate with artists to realise grown elements or planting design within wider public art projects
I have worked as a consultant/ collaborator for various artists’ public art projects to help design and realise grown elements of their projects: I worked with Ruth Ewan on Another Time between 2016 and 2019 in Cambridge; I recently collaborated with a Denman+Gould on Haven at Southbank Centre in London.
Gardening Skills
Tuition 1-2-1, or for small groups
I provide tuition for interested clients on specific gardening skills such as rose or wisteria pruning, salvia propagation, meadow management and espalier pruning; helping you care for your garden long into the future.
